Unresolved

"Unresolved is a piece that asks the question, “Where do we go from here?” During this uncertain time of joblessness and anxiety, two artists wanted to come together to use their expertise to create an emblem of the pandemic. Constructed out of steel and plywood, this piece depicts a shelf as a symbol of stability and solid foundation in our daily routine. However, the normalcy of everyday life is being disrupted and dismantled. It is exploding and it is blooming. This piece exists as a snapshot, a time where the writhing steel and splintered wood was paused, uncertain of its final shape. Because of the societal struggles of the last year, as people lost their jobs and their lives while politicians failed to stop the spread, many are wondering “What’s next?” This piece embodies that uncertainty. Will life go back to normal? As time progresses, will the steel tubes fall back into place? Or will something new be created? Is the traditional worth going back to?"
