Intermedio
Intermedio Pattern.bot (working title)
I am designing this robot in collaboration Intermedio, a Cincinnati artist collaborative. The idea for this piece revolves around having a multitude of robots that can both follow a line pattern on the ground as well as interact with each other via sound. The simplest way to meet these two requirements were infrared sensor in the front that could detect a line and tell the robot how to move. Second a speaker was mounted with an amplifier that would allow the Arduino to make complex sounds. These sounds will then be received by a microphone which will allow the robot to interact with the sounds from additional robots.
Current robot progress:
Robot platform and motor bracket has been laser cut and assembled. 3D printed infrared sensor housings are put in place and soldered.
Arduino micro received data from infrared sensors and controls two motor controllers along with a mini amplifier. All motors and amplifiers and controllers are controlled with a switching power regulator
Steps to complete: Adding microphone so additional robots can interact through sound.
